NRBC Bank Launches Instant Bank Statement Verification Service through QR Code

NRBC Bank PLC has introduced a “Quick Response (QR) Statement Enablement” service to facilitate the instant verification of customers’ bank statements. Under the new service, the QR code embedded in a bank statement can be scanned to instantly view and verify the statement details on a mobile device. Bank statements are often required for visa applications to foreign embassies, bank loan applications, and access to various government and private-sector services. The new digital service has been introduced to enable the concerned authorities to quickly and conveniently verify the authenticity of submitted bank statements, making the verification process faster, easier, more transparent, and secure. The service was formally launched recently at a hotel in Dhaka by Md. Ali Hossain Prodhania, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NRBC Bank. The launch event was chaired by Dr. Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank. Among others, the event was attended by Md. This will also reduce waiting time and make the service process more efficient for customers.” He further said that NRBC Bank is committed to expanding the use of digital technology to make banking services more convenient, secure, and accessible, while strengthening good governance, transparency, and accountability. Managing Director and CEO Dr. Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, said, “Bank statements are an essential document for obtaining services from foreign embassies as well as various government and private-sector organizations. However, in some cases, fraudulent or manipulated statements are submitted through the misuse of technology. Such practices can adversely affect the reputation of both the concerned bank and the country.” He added, “To prevent such fraud and make the statement verification process more reliable, the ICT Operations Division of NRBC Bank has introduced this QR-based verification service. Any concerned authority can now scan the QR code on an NRBC Bank statement and instantly verify the authenticity of the statement.” The new service is expected to significantly streamline the bank statement verification process and contribute to preventing fraudulent submissions.
